Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Manuel M. Ortansa Fontes She immigrated to the United States in 1975.
She is survived by seven children, Eduardo Fontes, Eduino Fontes, Caroline Amado, Matilda Veiga, Hipilito Fontes, Joaquima Fontes and Ninquinha Fontes, a sister, Justina
Fontes, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Madeline Fontes Andrade.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, High St, Pawtucket at 10:30am. Entombment will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 9pm.
