Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Casimiro and Analia Baptista.
She had been employed by the former School House Candy for several years.
She is survived by four children, Jose Carlos Gomes of Pawtucket, Filomena G. Goncalves and her husband, Antonio of New Bedford, Alfredo B. Pires and his wife Angelina of Pawtucket and ILda B. Pires of Pawtucket, two sisters, Juvina B. Rodrigues of Pawtucket and Maria Fortes of Brava, three brothers, Antonio Baptista of Pawtucket, Glancio Fortes of Brava, and Jose Fortes of Brava, 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 33 nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel B. Rodrigues, Jose Baptista and Elizabeth Baptista
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave Pawtucket at 9:45am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8pm.
