84, passed peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 23, 2013. She was the wife of the late Harrold H. Manley.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Adolphe J. and Gertrude (Baris) Collette.
She had been employed as a cashier by the former Almacs for 22 years, retiring in 1993.
Rita was the Office Clerk for the Central Falls Housing Authority for 10 years and President of the Wilfred Manor Association for over 25 years. She was Past President of Post 1271, Past President of the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the Central Falls Democratic Committee and a Eucharistic Minister for Holy Spirit Parish.
She is survived by three daughters, Therese R. Grant of Pawtucket, Roberta C. Bernier of Lincoln, and Jacqueline D. Rei of North Providence, a son, Richard R. Deschenes of Lincoln, four sisters, Stella Sweet of Central Falls, Jean Plociak of Pawtucket, Connie Johnson of Central Falls and Marguerite Pike of Pawtucket, a brother, Adolphe J. Collette Jr. of Norton, MA, 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rita was the former wife of Robert Deschenes; she was the sister of the late Leo, Robert and Richard Collette and Gloria Joachim.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St, at 9:30am Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Sr. Bea's Ministry, 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls, RI 02863.
