89, passed on August 22nd. He was the husband of
Yvonne A. (Perron) Fugere. They had been married for 65 years.
Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Philias T. and Beatrice H. (Picard) Fugere.
He had been employed at RI Hospital for over 20 years retiring in 1988. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a former post commander of Amvets Post 33, American Legion Post 45 and former president of the Pawtucket Veterans Council. Henry enjoyed working on model airplanes.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Richard E. Fugere and his wife Diane, Robert H. Fugere and his wife Susan and Catherine A. Brule and her husband Gregory, two brothers, Armand and Rene Fugere, two sisters, Theresa Hills and Irene Charrette, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Leo, Edward, Marion and Philias Fugere, Lillian V. Mayer, Hortense LaBranche, Jeannette R. Perron, Doris Gagnon, Gerald Mayer and Florence Green.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Pope John Paul II (St Leo Church) Central Ave, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7pm.
