77, passed on September 1st. He was the devoted husband of the late Jeanne B. Pendlebury who died on July 20, 2013. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John H. Pendlebury Sr. and Mary (Hargreaves) Pendlebury.

John Pendlebury Jr., even though having operated a successful insurance business, will more importantly be remembered for his love of his God Jehovah and his family and his love for people.

He was known and loved by many throughout New England because of his love, hard work and devotion as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He has been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over some sixty years. He has served as a minister, elder and overseer in the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses over many years in the Pawtucket, Lincoln and Woonsocket East Congregations. His experience, wisdom, love and knowledge of the Bible was respected, appreciated and benefited many, both in his family, the congregation and in the community.

As an elder and minister, John Pendlebury Jr. carried out many responsibilities over the years in the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. One that stands out in the minds of many was his being a member of the Hospital Liaison Committee for Jehovah's Witnesses. He served on the committee for over thirty years and was the chairman for much of that time. During that time he along with other members of the committee were instrumental in assisting many who were in need of assistance in receiving medical care. Many appreciated his selfless sacrifice in assisting them in dealing with very difficult medical situations.

Not only did John Pendlebury Jr. show love for his family and the congregation, he also enjoyed sharing his faith and the Bible with members of the community. As a full time "Pioneer" preacher and teacher of the "good news of the Kingdom" and Gods word, John has helped many to come to a
knowledge and understanding of the Bible and God's purpose.

He will be dearly missed and always loved by his family and all. John believed in the promise of the resurrection held out in the Bible in the book of Job chapter 14 verses 14 and 15 which states in part::

"If an able- bodied man dies can he live again?.................You will call and I myself shall answer you.............."

John awaits the resurrection and the call from Jehovah. You can be assured that John Pendlebury, Jr. will hear the call and he will answer when it happens according to Jehovah's will and purpose.

John is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Sousa and her husband, Duane of Wakefield, Esther Ann Badessa and her husband Steven of Lincoln, and John Pendlebury III, a sister, Janice Usher of Lincoln, six grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Talk will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 3pm. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit starting at 2pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
