Candida P. Baptista, 83, passed on September 9th with all ten of her children, grandchildren and her sister by her side. She was the wife of the Jorge Baptista
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Eugenio and Maria M. Pereira.
She dedicated her life to her family.
She is survived by her ten children, Joao Pereira of Cape Verde, Maria Martins of Atlanta, Georgia, Jose Baptista of Cape Verde, Joana Barbosa of North Providence, Elisa Baptista of North Kingstown, Eugenio Baptista of Melbourne, Florida, Paulina Gomes of Johnston, Regina LaFerriere of Pawtucket, Helena Baptista of Providence, Derek Baptista of Pawtucket, two sisters, Domingas Pereira of Pawtucket and Adelaide Lopes of Cape Verde, Jorge Pereira of Cape Verde, Manuel Pereira of Portugal, 32 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was sister of the late Jose Pereira and Auta Pereira.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St Raymond Church, at 10am. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8pm.
