95, passed peacefully October 7th with her loving family by her side. Born in Prados, Celorico da Beira, Portugal, she was the wife of the late Manuel Nunes Tomaz and daughter of the late José Cruz and Filomena Rodrigues. Maria is survived by nine children and their spouses who she adored. Ana (São) Simão & Serafim, José Tomaz & Carolina, Avelino Tomaz & Beatriz, Maria Helena Rodrigues & Manuel, Antonio Tomaz & Celeste, Maria Olivia Rodrigues & J.Jaime, João Tomaz & Cynthia, Jaime Tomaz & Palmira, Maria Dolores Correia & Carlos. She also leaves behind a sister Luciana Pires, 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. Maria was also survived by Maria (Maggie) Pimentel and Derek Cabral and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late José and Antonio Tomaz and the sister of the late Antonio Cruz. Her funeral will be held Thursday, October 10th at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Mt. Cavalry Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and Friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 9th from 5 to 8pm.
