91 passed away peacefully at the Village at Willow Crossings on November 5, 2013. He was formerly from North Attleboro and Monument Beach, MA. Born in Providence, R.I. on August 31, 1922 he was the son of the late Eastwood H. and Cora L. Boardman, brother of the late Maud (Boardman) Fish. "Easty" was raised in R.I. and graduated from Central Falls High School. He was a veteran of WWII where he served as an aviation radioman 2nd class in the U.S. Navy. He flew in 37 combat missions from the carrier the U.S.S. Wasp on the Pacific. He was awarded the Air Medal. He graduated from the University of R.I. with a degree in business. He worked at Texas Instruments in Attleboro until he retired in 1977. Easty had many hobbies and interests including archeology, history, hunting, fishing and golf. He was a past member of both the American Legion North Attleboro Lions Club and President of the latter. He also, was a past board member and President of Moshassuck Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Phyllis (Hodgkins) Boardman, three children E. Howard Boardman and his wife Karen, George Boardman and his wife Linda and Bonnie (Boardman) and her husband Brian Sands. Five grandchildren Kendra, Courtney, and Kevin Sands, Amanda and Nathan Boardman. A graveside service will be held at Moshassuck Cemetery 978 Lonsdale Ave, Central Falls, RI at 11am Friday, November 29th. In lieu of flowers donations in Eastys name may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Compassionate Care Hospice 174 Dean St. Taunton, MA.
