56 of North Smithfield, RI (formerly of Massachusetts) wife of Ramone Johnson died peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014 with family and friends by her side.

She was born to Joyce Gomes and the late Samuel James on April 15, 1957 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Sandra graduated from Roxbury High School in 1975 and completed the necessary training to become a certified dental assistant. She married Ramone Johnson on Sep. 29, 2002 and they lived together in North Smithfield, RI for the past 9 years.

Sandra had enthusiastic love for people and as one of Jehovah Witnesses, often spent time sharing her faith with others. She was long-suffering and placed her wholehearted faith in Jehovah God. Her enthusiastic smile, youthful energy and friendly nature fostered long lasting friendships in the surrounding congregations and communities. She had an incredible love of life and she infused others with that joy of life as well. She was strong, passionate and honest in her feedback which made her a great person to talk to.

In her early years, Sandra enjoyed dancing, singing and sewing with her sister and neighborhood friends. Sandra also had a strong passion for fitness and health. She was a spinning instructor for the Fidelity fitness center in north Smithfield. She used her passions for reading to incorporate many nutritional and health recommendations into her diet as a vegan. In addition, she used her love for the outdoors to enjoy biking, hiking and planting flowers.

Sandra is survived by two sons: Nathan Boddie of Franklin; and Dorian Boddie (wife Bethany) of Pawtucket. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers Jacqueline Young (husband Stanley); Cynthia James; Gerald James and Anthony James all of Roxbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center, 125 South Huntington Avenue Boston, MA 02130. In the memo section of the check some may want to note “in memory of Sandra Johnson”.
