81, passed on February 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Sullivan) Millar, and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Born in Pawtucket, RI, He was a son of the late Joseph A. Millar Sr. and Catherine (Brady) Millar. Joseph was employed by Table Talk Pies and Hostess Inc. for 42 years, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the Holy Name Society of the former Holy Trinity Parish of Central Falls. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Brenda Valcourt and her husband Gerald of Cumberland, Sharon Tager and her husband Louie of Coventry, Barbara Santaniello of Cumberland, Lynne Cipriano and her husband Michael of Central Falls and a son Kenneth J. Millar and his wife Jennifer of Central Falls. Joseph was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, Erin Valcourt, Kerri Valcourt DeMiranda and her husband Erik, Ryan Cipriano and his wife Corey, Chelsea Cipriano, Joelle Millar O'Brion and her husband Kevin, Alyssa Millar, Emily Millar, Spencer Millar, Tyler Santinello, Brad Tager, Savannah Tager and 4 great grandchildren, Brianna Valcourt, Jace DeMiranda, Vanessa DeMiranda and Fiona Millar O'Brion. He is also survived by a sister Catherine Frechette of Central Falls and a brother John Millar, of Murrietta, CA. He was the brother of the late Mary Alix. His funeral will be held Friday at 8am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Central Falls at 9:30am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 N Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
