64, died Saturday at The Mansion Nursing home in Central Falls, RI. Born in Pawtucket, he was son of the late Ernest and Victoria (Mutty) Choquette. Merrill was a truck driver for over 40 years and loved the open roads. He was a former member of the Garfield Social Club, a associate member at the Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club and help cook at many events at the Nipmuc and Uxbridge events. Mel was a huge Patriots fan, loved to go fishing and camping with friends and family and having a nice ice cold Budweiser.
He is survived by his sisters Janice Forand, Barbara Nagy and a brother Ronald Choquette and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert, Frank, Neil and sister Audrey (McMahon) Choquette.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM-3:00 at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI. In lieu of flowers donation to www.freetobreathe.org in his memory would be appreciated.
