73, passed peacefully at home on March 2nd. He was the husband of Joyce (Mocogni) Battersby. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past May. He was the son of the late Arthur and Jeanette (Bechard) Battersby. Allan proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard; he was a hardworking man, a dedicated father, a loving grandfather and an avid fisherman. He leaves behind four sons, Allan and his wife Cindy, Brian and his wife Sandra, Steven, Kevin and his wife Jill, a sister, Jean Evans, a brother, Arnold Battersby. Allan was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers Arthur and Alfred Battersby two sisters June Dacier and Joyce Johnson. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 7th at 10am in St. Jude Church, Front St. Lincoln. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, March 6th, from 5-8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Miriam Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Amos House, Providence.
