I'm so sorry to hear of Paul's passing, and my prayers are with him and his entire family. I went to St Mathieu's school with Paul, until the 8th grade. The last time that I saw him was in 1998 at St. Mathieu's, for the 29th Reunion of our 8th grade graduation. I really enjoyed spending time with Paul and all our fellow graduates and spouses. My deepest sympathies to his wife and children.

My brother was going thru his "Superman" phase while I was beginning to notice boys... I went to Snow's on an errand for mom and wondered why the cute boy working there was following me around... My darling (grrr) little brother had tucked a red towel in my coat belt which the cute boy laughingly pointed out! Mortified, I 'flew' out of there and after Paul faster than a speeding bullet! I'll miss you terribly Superman- My heart is broken. Love, Linda

I am sorry for the Paon family loss. My fondest memory of Paul was in the summer of 1971 over Aunt Jane's summer house in Warwick. On a very hot summer day, Paul was trying to turn a rock band "Chicago" song "25 or 6 to 4" into a folk guitar song. For several hours, Paul practiced that song and eventually succeeded. I will never forget how hard he sweated as he manipulated the guitar frets until Paul got the sound he wanted.

After Paul finished, he talked about the enjoyment we shared: the Boston Red Sox. Paul would share baseball talk about Yaz, Rico Petrocelli, and the other long forgotten Sox heroes .

In closing, Paul taught me determination in any project will eventually succeed. Plus, Paul was fun to discuss music and sports with. I will miss him.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. But what can I be thankful for, Dad? You are going to be with us in spirit but it seems like that might not be enough. I am thankful that you were able to go so peacefully. Your suffering through the last two weeks of your life seemed minimal compared to the past year. You showed me that no matter how bad things can be, you can always find time to laugh and enjoy each other's company. I have to say I didn't enjoy any other time with you more than I did the last two weeks of your life. I'm thankful that I was able to have a job that let me do what I needed to do in order to give you undivided attention, I'm thankful my fiancee was always keeping an eye out for my well-being through this because I didn't have time for it, and I'm thankful that there were so many people willing to help so much to make you comfortable and enjoy your humor. I know that helped you through this because that's what I would want if I knew my time was near. You did such a good job, Dad, and I know you're where you've earned to be now. Rest peacefully, and as I told you before, we'll be okay... and I'm thankful that you were able to raise me so well to handle myself and our family at such a young age without you. You will be missed greatly... but we'll be sure to fit in a few laughs for you since you did that for us.

Love you Dad. Always did... always will.

-Your Buddy,

I was shocked and saddened to read in the newspaper of Paul's passing away. I still can't believe it. Paul and i were in the same class at Central falls High. I couldn't have asked for a better classmate than Paul. Out of all the class i have to say that paul was one of the nicest, caring individual to know. The last time i saw Paul and he shook my hand was at his dads funeral. Please be assured of my thought and prayers for the family during this difficult time. If I know Paul he is making sure that everyone is being cared for here on earth.
