Shocking and heartbreaking to lose such a wonderful young man. I have many memories of time spent with Richard when he was an undergrad at URI. His warmth and kindness and humor touched everyone he met.Our deepest condolences to his family.

I met Richard during Upward Bound. He was a class ahead of me. I never really spoke to Richard a lot...BUT when I did he was always so kind! The Richard I knew didn't say much but he was always surrounded around people and I knew those people had his back because he was the type of person to be there for them!! God knows why he does what he does, it doesn't make it hurt less though. When the sun shines, or good things happen, know that Richard has your back!

Family and friends will miss Richard, but will hold fast to his memory and be reminded of his presence in his daughter's eyes and smile.
I remember Richard pushing the stroller around when he, Meghan and baby Cameris visited StPete. The Florida sun was no competition for that proudly beaming Richard Vargas smile.
I pray that memories like this will help comfort my sweet niece Meghan, her family and the Vargas Family.

I know I can speak for Richard's fellow employees at MetLife that Richard will be sadly missed. He was friends with everyone. He was polite, professional and just a nice person. All he talked about was his daughter who he cherished dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

mikey, your big bro,never did i expect that i should have have counted years,months,weeks,days, etc. to reconcile with you.Only can i hope your with our mom.
