There are people in our lives with whom we have a special bond that almost seems timeless. Uncle Roger (a.k.a. "Sam") is one of those people to me. As far back as I can remember, he and I have always enjoyed each other's company and felt we could speak openly about anything and it was understood, it was judgment free. I loved that about our relationship.
There are people in our lives who wish us luck in our endeavors. Then, if we're lucky, there are a few who play an active role in helping us achieve those goals. Sam spent over 15 years being my right hand man helping me to build my jewelry business even though there were times at the beginning that I couldn't afford to pay him. He was there regardless. For that I could never repay and I know he felt just being part of it all was enough for him. I loved him for that.
He was a trustee in every sense of the word; with keys, codes, combinations, confidences, but most importantly, our girls, Ashley and Brianna. Some of their earliest and fondest memories recall their Uncle Roger picking them up from school, bringing them to our store to spend time with their dad, and then safely home. Priceless.
So, as we say goodbye to him, let's recall his laugh and sense of humor, his love for family and friends, and the memories of him that have made such an indelible impression on all of us. And while we're at it, let's raise a shot glass of Jack Daniels and chase it with a cold Coors Light. Here's to you Sam! Until we meet again... We Love You.

Uncle Roger,
When I think about our lifetime and the stages we've gone through, nothing else seems more important than the time we spent with you. All the laughter, all the struggles, all the closeness, all the tears served to form a bond between us which grew stronger through the years. Special people never leave us, you're gone but not forgotten. Your memory is a treasure we'll keep within our hearts. We were truly blessed to have you in our lives.
Rest in Peace.
Love, Yvonne, Guy and family
