I have fortunately known Scott for over 15 years, first through the Family Care Center at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket Rhode Island. Later and for over 10 years as his primary care pediatrician. In all those year, I watched Scott bravely struggle as Muscular Dystrophy robbed him of his strength, his health and physical ability. He faced the ravages of his declining health and independence and his increasing physical pain with boundless courage and an upbeat and cheerful disposition. In all the years I had known Scot, I had never heard him complain about his physical decline or his condition. He was the very model of bravery in the face a devastating disease, loss of physical ability and increasing pain.
As he faced the end of his Earthly Life, he took control of his leaving this life by going to sleep and letting life slip away to wake up with his grandmother and without pain. Though, his mother, Deb and everyone who knew Scot will feel sadness and loss. We all have been granted the gift of knowing Scot and being rewarded by his strength and courage and for shearing in his life, though short, but profoundly effecting all who knew and loved him.
For his mother, Deb, I know the pain of her loss will never fully resolve but I hope it will soften over time. She should also know that she gave both Scot and Marky life and did her best to make their lives the best she could. She is and will always be a champion to me for all of the pain she had to she had to endure and for the outstanding care devotion she provided. I wish her all the best because she deserves it.
To Scot: You Done Good! I will always remember you and your Mom. You will always be my Hero.

My little Scott Bott will always put a smile on my face. You were a special little boy, who grew into a special young man. You were taken from us much too soon, but earned your wings long ago. I will love you always.

To the family I wish to offer my sincere condolences for your loss. May Jehovah, the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time, “while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.†1 Peter 5:7. I hope you will find some measure of comfort from the promise found at Revelation 21:3, 4 which reads in part that "death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore........ .
