Henry was Henry--passionate for social justice to the very core of his body, mind, heart, and soul. He would remind all of us: 'Don't mourn, organize.' We love and miss you, Nino

Father Shelton, back in the 60's, while at St. Jude's was a man I will never forget. He was there for the death of my Dad at the age of 38, and then again for my Mom when 3 years later when she was nearly killed in an automobile accident! He visited our home at those times and was a great comfort! I'm 63 and thought of him many times over the years! He left imprints in my life. May he rest in peace.

Growing up in St Jude's parish, Father Shelton was a cornerstone of our community, Whenever he visited our home, we were delighted and always better for it. Throughout his life he demonstrated how to live as a true Christian. What a courageous leader for RI. The Bessette family sends deepest condolences to the Shelton family

To the Shelton family, my sincere sympathy on the loss of your dear Henry.
I knew him when he was Fr. Shelton...at St Jude...I was a teenager,he was so great to me and my friends. So many great memories...like the time he took us in his light blue station wagon to see The Sound of Music... He left and went to St Michaels but came back at my request to marry us at St Jude in 1967.... Wonderful man...Patrick, one day you walked into our classroom in CF to substitute and one look at you and I knew you had to be his son...I shared that with you and you delivered a note to him from me ....I gave you a picture of your Dad and I at my wedding...don't know if you remember, but wanted to thank you for taking him the note and to express my sympathy to you...I was blessed to have known him..

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
To Carol and the Shelton Family: Didn't know Henry as a priest or as an advocate for those less fortunate. I knew him as a 12 year-old, left-handed, first baseman on the Central Falls Green Sox baseball team, when he lived at 4 Parker Street (second floor). He attended Holy Trinity school with Jack Rabbitt and Irv Gorman. Jack died six months ago in Florida. Both were great guys and good ballplayers. I'm sure they're together again to talk about old times. I'm sorry for your loss and hope fond memories sustain you. Jake Jones

My heart goes out to you and your family. You and Henry made such a marvelous couple--caring, progressive, always ready to lend a hand in so many causes. Henry was a golden role model for all of us, and still is. His is an extraordinary legacy, as is yours.
