I am so sad that Gerry is gone. I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 2010 when we worked together at RI Hospital. He would anesthetize the patients and I would recover them. We went on to do many things together over the years. I will never forget all of the wonderful memories we shared. If he only knew how much I cared for him. I wish I could've been there when he took his last breath. He was so intelligent and he always encouraged me to do things I didn't think I could do. He was adventurous and fun, truly one of a kind! Even though, he spent his entire life dedicated to helping other people in the medical field (and he was fabulous at it, by the way), playing music was his absolute passion. He was extremely dedicated to this gift he had and I was glad he found others with as much passion. I believe that playing music added a whole new dynamic to his life. Gerry provided me with the most precious gift back in 2012. I have had the pleasure of raising a beautiful Scottish Fold named Pumpkin. She has always reminded me of him, and now will even more so. I pray that he is watching down on us right now and feels the enormous outpouring of love that so many of us feel toward him. He will forever live in my heart. And I truly hope that we will meet again all in perfect time.

Having been Gerry's cousin, only a few years older, gave me the chance to experience more crazy things than I could list. We had so many wild times while growing up together. And yet, through it all, there was the serious guy who cared so much for others and did so much for everyone else. I will truly miss you my wacky cousin, but I am sure we will meet again. RIP cousin.

My deepest condolences to Sarge & Shawn. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Gerry knew what a wonderfully unique person he was. He spent his whole life in the service of others and genuinely loved doing so. Rarely did we go somewhere without meeting someone he had saved, helped, or taught.
Together, Gerry and I worked, traveled, built a home, raised my daughter Heather, and shared our lives for 16 years. He was a man of great integrity and compassion, and generous to a fault.
It's comforting to know that, instead of working too hard (which he always did), he had finally taken some time over the past few years to enjoy what he loved most: playing the drums. I know the last time I saw him he seemed happier than ever. Gerry, you will be forever loved and missed. Godspeed

Gerry was a very inique and whimsical guy. I can personally attest to his abilities with a needle ( He hurts). He always had a smile or a sarcastic remark whenever we met.
I guess all you can say is "he was Gerry"

Gerry was my neighbor and my friend. I knew him my entire life. He was the cool guy with the corvette with TAPE on the plate. Growing up he was Shawn's big brother. As I got older Gerry was always their to help with medical advice. I remember going to hear his band at Raymond's Pub when I was a teenager. The many fireworks displays that were better than all the rest because Gerry was setting them off. I will miss you my friend until we meet again. RIP Gerry

Gerry was a dear friend when we both worked at St.Anne's Hospital. He was a sweet man with a kind soul and always made me smile. A brilliant CRNA, who took excellent care of my son at RIH when he needed emergency surgery after a motorcycle accident. Thank you, Gerry, for some great memories and may you Rest In Peace. â¤

I worked with Gerry at RIH in 2010 for only a brief time.
I was the recovery nurse and Gerry was the CRNA bringing a patient to me during the night. The experience we had that night is etched forever in my mind! He displayed intelligence, concern, and instincts regarding our patient that allowed us to anticipate and provide excellent care for our patient.
Gerry was a great teacher for staff as well as his patients.
He will be fondly remembered. Now the Lord is taking care of you Gerry. Amen.

I graduated in the same class at Lincoln High School with Gerry. You could always count on Gerry for a laugh when you needed it. He had a quirky sense of humor that he never lost throughout his too short life. I lost touch with him after graduation, but reconnected at the 41st class reunion. He amazed me with his accomplishments and life story. Rest well Gerry!
