With great sadness I read the obituary for my dear cousin Susie Conlon Souza, She lived her life totally in the service of her children, grand children, and siblings. Their grief must be enormous at this time. I will pray for them in this time of loss. She was a valiant woman and a jewel of a person. May angels lead her into Paradise.

She was often called Peewee or Susie Q to Mary, Frank and me. I remember how darling she was in her St. Joseph’s red jumper on her first day in kindergarten. And how she cried so much on the kiddie Ferris wheel at Crescent Park that they had to stop the ride and let her off. And how I calmed her fears when we got lost on a bicycle ride by telling her about Jack and the Beanstalk. Susie loved to read and play the slots once in a while. But most of all she loved her family and everyone she knew loved her. Words can’t express how much she’ll be missed.

Susie, my lifelong friend and beyond. Part of me has gone with you. My mind is flooded with all the time we spent together, all the crazy things. we did, all the laughter, tears. and in between. If I started reminiscing with you the site would crash. There are no known words to me to express how I feel. I will miss you my sweet friend SusieQ. The last time we talked not so long ago we both said" I will love you forever". Almost at the same time. And I will. My sincerest condolences to the Conlon family and friends. God Bless you.

I knew you since we were kids, and watched you grow and have a family, when you came to work at Post 79 it was like having a little sister there. Every time we lose a person like you, we lose a little piece of ourselves, I'll cherish knowing you and having you been a part of my life forever.

Missing your daily phone calls, going out to eat and visiting Twin River where we had the most fun. My life without you will never be the same. Toward the last couple of months I could see how much you were suffering so I knew it was time for God to take you in his arms.
