Bye mama, no more late night chicken and TV but there will always be memories of all the hilarious inside jokes. I will miss the long drives to see you and especially how bright your face got everytime you saw us. I will miss you asking me if I'm okay and asking if I'm hungry and trying to feed me. I will miss our conversations about life and our times spent together. You are no longer in pain and are no longer suffering, you are in a better place and you can finally see your mom after a long time of asking and calling out to her. It has been the greatest time getting to know you and getting the chance you experience your presence. You are the brightest light and a strongest force. I will miss you so much. ❣

I have only known you for 7 years but I feel like we've built a connection for eternity. You were old in age but young at heart and soul. I loved listening to you talk about Cape Verde, your kids and your life. I loved your jokes that would get Txontxa mad. I still can't believe you've left us but it's fine since you're not suffering anymore. You always did love your chicken and our visits late at night. I'll always have you in my heart, thank you for the wonderful memories you've given me.

Querida Amiga, colega e conterrânea, Conceição!

Sinto a tua dor e a dos teus irmãos e demais entes queridos como a minha própria dor, pois tua mãe era também a mãe de todos os que, como eu, se relacionavam com ela em diversas circunstâncias, nomeadamente nas idas e vindas da escola e na frequência da vossa casa, em demanda de serviços de costura do teu saudoso pai ou para outros fins.
De porte naturalmente altivo, era contudo uma pessoa austera e humilde, solícita e carinhosa, particularmente para com as crianças.
Nestes momentos de dolorosa privação e saudade, solidarizo-me com a família enlutada, aoresentando os meus sentidos pêsames.
