Coach Barr always made playing fun. More so, he made practices fun (which is way harder than games). Coach put in hours and days and always brought positivity to the team. He was never derogatory, he didn’t yell at players. After weeks and months of practices and grind the team could always rely on Coach to bright spot. He taught boys to play a game, but in a way that translated to lifelong lessons for men to be their best.
Thanks Coach Barr

I was so sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. My deepest, heartfelt sympathies go out to the entire Barr family! Dick was a “Classic”! I first met him while I was in college. We were friendly foes playing softball. I got to know him better when Scott, John and Lynda were at Lincoln High. He was so proud of all of you! We have lost one of the real good guys! Again, my sincere condolences to all of you!

DEAR BARR FAMILY-
The last time I saw Dickie was over ham and eggs at Lil & Genes Restaurant. We chatted between every bite . It was always so enjoyable talking with him because there was never a hidden agenda . When the man spoke you got his True Grit words with a passion .
I'd say he was John Wayne like ,but Richard was real and not just acting a part.We talked about sports, the town of Lincoln and the local characters we both knew.
But his favorite topic was his family.
The love and pride he held for all of you was very evident and I appreciated him sharing with me,
Especially the parts about the grandkids.
This Thanksgiving his seat will be empty and I'm truly sorry.
But I know that he filled your hearts forever.
You are all here to carry on for the "Biggest Guy"... and I know that you will.
I wish you Peace.
Sincerely,
Paul " PRACK" Prachniak
