To the Coutu Family
The Chief and I go a long way back to the early 1970's. I remember his father when he was Chief and Rene filled the footsteps of his father without missing a step. His friendly personality, his kind words, his strong support of his men and his love of the City and the Department he served so well. We will never have a family serve a City so well as the Coutu Family. I will miss the Chief and my heart is heavy with the loss of such a good person. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife, his daughters and his mother, brother and sisters. God Bless you all and God Bless the City he served so well.

It was my good fortune to work with Chief Coutu in the early '90s. He loved his fellow firefighters and the City of Central Falls; but first in his heart was always his beautiful wife, Denise, and beloved daugthers, Lisanne and Laura. His face lite up when you inquired about his family. He will be missed by Central Falls residents for his kindnest, dedication and strong leadership as Chief of the Central Falls Fire Department. When he got hired we worked together at the Fire Dept. and also at Notre Dame Church for almost 20 years. We had many great times together, gone to sooooo many fires, and so many talks together about all kind of things, life, people and yes the Fire Dept HA HA.
Denise, Rene loved you and his daughters with all his heart, always remenber that.
We all will miss him.
The only thing I can say is, good by my dear friend until we meet again!
