I am so sorry for your loss. I loved it when my mom Harriett always called on Wayne to work in our house and the fun we always had when he was there. He always made us laugh. Our deepest sympathy to all of Wayne’s family on his passing – a great loss to all who knew him – I know of his great love for his family, as many a time he would cross the Hope St. to get grilled cheese for the children and grandchildren for breakfast. We played softball both as teammates and opponents for years and there was no one who gave more effort and played with more spirt and joy than Wayne.
Wayne will greatly missed at our morning talks on Hope St. about Red Sox/Yankee games and everything sports.
May the angels and all the Yankee greats meet him at Heaven’s gate for all the fun and good he brought to those around him.

Mr. Fernandes was truly an amazing person. His smile and laugh were contagious. He was one of my favorite patients. Everytime he came to my office he would make me laugh and smile. He was such a great man that putting into words the effect he has on every person he encountered has proven to be difficult. I'm sure there wasn't a person he met that he didn't touch their life in some way or another. My sincere condolences to his family. He must me truly missed and I will definitely miss seeing him at my office.

One of the great losses of the 21st Century. R. Wayne Fernandes was one in a million. I had a lot of laughs and great times with him all those years ago at Providence Electric. In later years he helped my sister and her husband with some electrical work and they absolutely loved him. She used to make him calzones which he enjoyed. Unfortunately, they are both gone now as well. When I got my new house he immediately came and checked everything out for me. He was good like that. To me, he was ageless and seeing this now saddens me. I’ll miss you my friend. May eternal rest be granted upon Wayne O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him always in Heaven. May his incredible soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
