Miss Long, Miss Long, Miss Long!!!
You were my teacher when I was a young teenager at Central High School. She was at the best. They don’t make teachers like her anymore. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. I loved her dearly. And what I am so glad about, is that I was able to tell you whenever I saw you how much I loved and appreciate you.
To her family please accept my deepest and sincere condolences. May the Lord take you through this time of bereavement.

Ms. Long was one the best teachers I’ve ever had at Central High School in the late 90’s. I loved her personality, she treated all of her students like they was her own children, and she always looked out for her students giving them great advice and words of wisdom. She made us feel loved genuinely every time we walked into for classroom. She was a mother figure to a lot of kids. My condolences and prayers go out to her family especially her 2 twin grandsons who I grew up with at John Hope. May you Rest In Peace Ms. Long!!

I will never forget Miss Long! Everything she instilled in all of her students will live on for generations. She was very dear to my heart and every lesson learned has never been forgotten. She showed me she cared when I was in most need of it. May her legacy live on and may she rest in peace for eternity. I am praying for her family. We who are not her family loved this women so much, I can only imagine how the magnitude of her loss has effected her loved ones. Forever praying and supporting. - Kim Wilson Johnson

I am so sorry for your loss, but please keep in mind that the bible says there will be a resurrection. Acts 24: 15. Do you long to experience the joy of having a dead loved one come to life again? God's word the bible gives us that wonderful hope namely, the prospect of living in a paradise on earth and seeing the resurrection of our dead loved ones. Luke 23: 43. The bible calls Jehovah God the creator of life and the source of life. Acts 17: 24 , 25. Therefore, the One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone that has died. And in the future death will be no more. Revelations 21: 3, 4. I hope this spiritual message will give you comfort in your time of sadness. Please visit jw.org. Please view our latest convention : " Pursue peace." on jw Broadcasting.

43 years ago we joined your bowling league. I think it was Midway Mixers and many other leagues over the years. The 1st we had gumbo you served it at one of the card parties where we played bid whist, pinochle and other competitive card games. Good memories! Mark says you bought him food to the bowling alley especially the pigs feet and he doesn’t really eat pigs feet but he said you cooked them in such a way that it absolutely delicious! Cooking is definite gift God gave you. Due to covid we have not seen you at the bowling alley but happy we attended your 80th birthday celebration! Love and prayers to your family Joy!

Well, I so recall how proud Mr. Jimmy was of Joy coming to RI! He indicated that he would love for a few of us East Siders...welcome her when she arrived. This we did and she was truly a "Joy" to meet and later know. She may have been the person that planted the idea of us getting a higher education.

May she rest in eternal peace and to her family I send my sincere sympathy in your loss.

Miss Long,
From Roger Williams to Central High School!!
Several things………………………………………
• I want to thank you for your wisdom, time and most of all your love.
• I want to thank you for connecting me to my Sister/ Best Friend in the 9th grade.
Just to give you an update:
We are still close Sister/ Best friends.
From that shirt we sewed in your class back at Central High school, it taught me that the best relationships can be created from the most unlikely of unmatched people.
Thank you for showing me that the best relationships are created in the best of situations.

To Adrian, Renee and Sandy. Just finding out of the passing of my dear friend. Remembering the good times spent on the back and forth visits here in Ct and RI. The cookouts with you all, going to clubs and her bowling events out of town. The nights spend at our house. Rick and I will surely miss her. Peace be with you and the great memories you all had with her.
