It is with a broken heart that I sign this guest book. I am so saddened by his passing. We became friends during a difficult time in his life and I feel robbed that I didn’t get to spend more time with him. My brother from another mother that’s how I felt about Steve. To the family treasure your memories and support each other that is what he would want.

GOOD JOURNEY MY OLD FRIEND
Today I had the sad honor of saying goodbye to my dear friend Steve Kacharo. Since his passing, I have discovered that I cannot escape the memories of Steve as no matter where I go in this city, I am reminded of being with him there at one point or another in my past. Those memories increased exponentially over the past week as I thought of Steve and pondered what this world will be like without him.
Steve was a man rich in life experience and the love of family and friends. He soaked up the cultural icons of our youth and absorbed them into his persona, crafting an aura about him totally unique unto himself. Bruce Lee, Motown, Kung Fu, Hawaii Five-O, Shaft, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan, Mannix, The Godfather. They and so many others were all in there.
Steve was a natural comedian and had perfect timing. Once he literally made me burst out laughing with a single word. He was fearless, full of vigor, and grabbed life by the horns as if daring it to stop him. He was wild at heart, but always cool, calm, and collected on the exterior.
But underneath, Steve was sensitive and intuitive. He spotted things a mile away that I never saw coming. He was handsome, well educated, and street smart. A triple threat if there ever was one. He was creative, loved to work with his hands, and was truly a connoisseur of all fine things in life.
He was mad proud of his Italian heritage, and he enveloped himself in a Mafia Hitman vibe that was all his own. Bottom line: Steve was cool. Really fucking cool. And he knew it and he loved it, and I loved him for it.
He was my hero, my bodyguard, and most of all he was my dear, dear friend. He is the stuff of Legend, and he will live on in the stories that will be told. Good Journey My Old Friend. Until We Meet Again…

Unfortunately, it is many months later, however, with just as many heartfelt sympathies for your loss of your brother (Dimitria & Wayne) and Uncle (Meghan). I was looking something up and happened to stumble upon this unexpectedly. I was shocked!! How sad, so young. So many more years to share with loved ones, yet he is at peace and will continue to live within your hearts and fond memories. So much has changed of our days on Elder Street and somedays can’t believe how fast time has gone. However, we do have our fond memories and that as we have gotten older is what we learn to hold onto and cherish!
My deepest sympathies to all!

I never met Steve and just found out about his passing today 10 May 2024. I met Steve through my many dealings with him on the phone as he helped with our ColumbiaThreadneedle accounts. Steve was professional, personable, knowledgeable, honest and responsive. Over the last many months I have tried to reach out via his personal e-mail with no reply. And through the Financial Company but was just
told he was no longer with the company.
We became friends and I even was able to get him the Johnny Cash Folsom Prison t-shirt.
What a shock to hear he is gone. What a wonderful and outstanding person such a loss.
