Whenever we played golf together Roscoe was happiest when he would bring his grandson to the course and let him drive the cart and hit balls. Roscoe was one of the best neighbors anyone could hope to have. He would always greet you with a smile and a, "How you doing?" in that great deep voice he possessed. Roscoe was a living Legend to me. I watched Roscoe play at the Lasalle Academy gym with Marvin Barnes and Ricky Santos. Roscoe was assigned to guard the best player on the opposing team. Roscoe was strong, confident and impressive member of that team. I finally met this mythical man at the dedication of a basketball court at Farnoli Park. Roscoe was self effacing and just a nice guy. Joe Hassett recognized Roscoe and told him how he was in awe of Roscoe as a young player. Once in a blue moon your sports hero's are better people than they were sports stars. Roscoe is that person to me. I am so glad i got to meet Roscoe. Roscoe was also an all state football player.
