My heart is in pieces. Mike was one of a kind. His love for his family, his dedication, and hard work ethic were always very inspirational to me. You inspired me to work hard. I wanted you to be proud of me for how far I went in a short amount of time. I always saw a lot of similarities between us.
You inspired me to be the best husband and father I could be. I never had someone to look up to who could be an amazing, dedicated husband, and father at the same time in my life. You were the one I looked up to when it became my time to be a husband, and then when I became a father. You were that guy, you were the role model.

I was so impressed at how talented and smart you were.
You left big shoes to fill and I promise you until my last breath I will spend every day trying to fill those shoes.
I promise to be the best husband to Nicole and the best father to Leona and Morgan that I can be. Thank you for the lessons taught. I wish I had said more, I wish we talked more. You were a heck of a man and I can only hope I can be half the man you were.

The strength and courage you displayed fighting over the last 3 years is amazing and inspiring. I'm so proud of how hard you fought until the end. In true Mike fashion, you didn't take the path of least resistance. You fought every step. Displaying courage and unwaivering resilience.
Until we meet again, keep watching over all of us. Please help guide us. Everyone needs your guidance more than ever. You were always the one everyone could count on, and I know even on the other side you won't let us down. With much love, rest easy Mike, we will take it from here. I love you
