“To Tracy’s Family,

There is an African proverb that says, ‘Those who are truly loved by God never leave; they live on in the hearts of those who cherish them.’ Tracy’s light touched so many lives, and her spirit will forever shine in the memories we hold dear. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and laughter will remain a part of us, guiding and comforting us.

May you find strength in the knowledge that she is now with God, and peace in the love of all who stand with you during this time of loss.

With deepest sympathy and love,
Marcy

Miss Tracey had one of the purest souls a child could ever encounter.

She encouraged, guided, corrected, cared for, nurtured, protected, listened to, and smiled with so many children during her time in this realm.

Hers was a soul that was, and still is, few and far in between.

If "comfort" needed a face to define it, it should be hers.

She was sent for the children.

As the Sunday school song goes, "Jesus loves the little children," and He trusted them in and under her care.

Her presence was one that allowed the little children know that they were alright whenever she was around.

No need to fear when Miss Tracey was near.

That, I know from personal experience as a child entrusted in her care.

Often times, we don't fully understand the true glory of a person (or their gift) until we no longer possess it.

Miss Tracey was ALWAYS an angel.

Simple.

-As a child, I was one who was afraid of so many things... because I could see them with a different set of eyes.

Miss Tracey guided me through those fears in a way that very few others have or ever will.

Miss Tracey was there for me as a child.

She was a neighbor.

She was a leader.

She was my mother's friend.

We knew we were safe whenever Miss Tracey was around.

-At the rec, whenever we did ANYTHING or went ANYWHERE, I always wanted to be in her group.

She always made me feel like NOTHING bad would EVER happen to me while I was in her care.

ANYTHING, from facing a bully to overcoming a fear, I secretly looked for her if and when my own mother wasn't able to be there.

-I remember going on those hay rides and the "haunted" house trips in October at the rec... long story short: my soul could have jumped out of my skin with how scared I was... but Miss Tracey was there... laughing hysterically... a laugh that came straight from her soul, as she grabbed me after nearly bulldozing straight through her while looking for the nearest exit.

Miss Tracey grabbed me as best she could, covered my eyes, and ran with me in her arms until we got passed the maze of terror that I volunteered to put myself through, KNOWING my own fears and limitations... but Miss Tracey was there.

-And when I witnessed my little sister get struck by a car after leaving the rec one night, after getting off the bus from gymnastics, I ran straight back to the rec for Miss Tracey and Miss Lynne for help.

Miss Tracey was as God Himself created her to be: she was good.

Miss Tracey gave me some of the most important lessons in life... even though she may not have ever been aware that she was teaching them.

She showed me things that not very many will ever be able to see.

She was good.

She was kind.

She was patient.

She was firm.

She was loving.

She was a gift in human form.

She nurtured every seed in the community and helped to prepare us as we grew into adulthood.

Fast forward to the present day...

The children she cared for are now grown with children of our own.

We can only thank God for the blessing known as Miss Tracey, and do for our own children what she did for so many.

Her life was a light from God's very own eternal candle... Still shining on us this very day.

Certainly, He will say to her, "Well done."

Thank you Miss Tracey.

Travel well.
