Mr. Oliver, I will remember you as a very happy and relaxed dad as you sat in a beach chair next to Sharon enjoying a warm summer day and crashing waves at Second Beach many years ago. I hope the essence of your soul remains in the hearts of your children and friends. RIP

Bill was probably my best friend over the past 35 years or so. Was my boss at two different jobs. How often can a boss become a best friend? Such a special guy. Our personalities really matched well and we did many things together. Played golf, went the the CVS Charity golf event in Newport various times, attened PawSox and Bosox games. We also took the ferry from Providence to Newport more than once. Bill was always in a good mood. They don't come better than this gentleman. He will always live in my mind.

My dear, sweet Daddy O…
Today is the day I say my final farewell to you and the start of this life without you. I will miss you more than I can say, but will forever be grateful for having you as long as I did. You were always my #1 guy. The one person in this world that always had my back no matter what and that I trusted with my whole heart. Not only my father but also my friend, my confidant, my travel companion and my biggest cheerleader. Your love and support were unconditional, even when you knew I wasn't making the best choices. Always a man of your word and the most loyal person I've ever known. I always tried to show you in word and deed how much I loved and appreciated you, and I really hope I succeeded in that. Rest in peace, Dad. I'll love you forever and miss you for the rest of my life. ~ Nance

As we say “goodbye” to Dad, I prefer to celebrate his living, rather than mourn his passing. Proud and independent, he approached life on his own terms. He was, at the same time, devoted to his family and an anchor of stability. So, while I will certainly miss him, I will also continue to be inspired by his example. May he rest in peace.
