First, I’d like to say my deepest condolences to Daniel’s family. Danny was someone I could call my brother. When I first moved to Pawtucket I was scared to talk to kids in the neighborhood, but I remember that one Saturday morning, Danny saw me and Eric outside going down the driveway on our scooters, he came out and Eric introduced me to him. From there on out our friendship grew bigger, stronger and we were inseparable. Words cannot describe how close we were. He taught me many things that I needed to learn, he was there during the darkest moments of my life where I was just lost, but he guided me every single time. We shared many mature conversations as we grew up and it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that we noticed that we had watched each other grow, the three of us. Within 8 years of us being neighbors, Danny became the big brother I never had. Teaching me how to play basketball and we were always playing video games. He always had a smile on his face and was always making sure everyone around him was good. He always cracked jokes to cheer me up when I was down, and I will forever be grateful for his impact in my life. We shared many moments together that are now core memories. The day I heard the news I couldn’t believe it and broke down completely. I will forever carry his name until the day reunite, but from now on I’ll continue to be the young man that he helped shape, because without Danny’s support and advice I wouldn’t be the young man I am now, and I know he would be proud of me. Rest easy Danny, I love you big bro.

Each campfire lights anew,
the flame of friendship true,
The joys we've had in knowing you,
Will last a whole life through
And as the embers die away,
we wish that we could ever stay.
Although we cannot have our way,
We'll meet again some other day.

Bonsoir, mon ami. Love you Danny, CKA won't be the same without you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of teaching Daniel in elementary school. He was intelligent, kind, a great friend, and a wonderful young man. He loved learning. He loved sharing with others. He had a way of making the people around him feel good. My thoughts are with his loved ones during this impossibly difficult time.
