Ada: I offer you my most sincerest condolances on the loss of your husband, My Father-inlaw, and most importantly the grandfather & great grandfather of my children and grandchildren. I know the pain you have felt for I feel it also. Tears are in my eyes as I write this for the relationship I had with you & him bears with me two-fold.
I feel for you for I know how much you love him. It is evident in your devotion to him not only when in need but thru the years.
I witnessed Joe's love for you, unconditionally. You & him sacrificed all your life's too make your family whole.
Truly and sincerly I say the following out of love, that the relationship I have with you & him as my inlaws is far closer than that I had with my own parents (god rest their souls for I believe Joseph now stands with them as I know they are united in eternity).
My father was taken unexpectedly. the shock still haunts me today for I never had closure however I believe his life was complete for not only was he devoted to my mom, like you and your husband. He left this earth believing all his children had full lives and commitments that echoed his own devotion to his wife & family and the lifestyle he chose to live.
He once confided in me about the day he would die. He professed he really believed in re-incarnation. He had a pro-found belief that he was destined to come back as a Red Tailed Hawk to soar freely above all with unbiased freedom and vision that any person on earth can only dream of. As I worked weekend patrols @ Gillette Stadium from 2002~2008 I was haunted by the fact that every shift I worked an incredible phenonemon occured. As I checked routinely the perimeter of the stadium (doors and gates)I would often look to the sky and always there seemed to be a Red Tail Hawk soaring on the air currents above me! This was a "large hawk, proud and bold" and often as I would assume a post to watch over the complex it would land
