I was sorry not to learn the details of Jim's death in the Providence Journal, so I missed the funeral and a chance to pay last respects.
Before his Tillinghast-Stiles days, Jim worked with Jack Underhill at J.B. Jameson company - a Boston yarn sales firm. I persuaded Jack & Jim to merge with us and Jim - who had the final decision - decided to do so. He was a steady and loyal worker - easy to get along with. I know he was glad to have made the change as his Pawtuket Times obituary notice mentioned that he was at T-S Co. for 38 years.
We had many good times together. Some of them were at yarn conventions at Sea Island, Georgia. Other times we had a drink at the old Ming Garden after work. Jim was always pleasant. Never did I see him angry.
I am sorry that Jim was in such poor health the last years of his life. Many of us will miss him and I extend condolences to him many relatives and friends.
