Smile because he Lived
You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn back,
or you can do what he would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

To My Sister Peggy and her Beloved Children and their Families:
"We Remember Them"
At the rising of the sun and at its going down; We Remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and the chill of winter; We Remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring; We Remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer; We remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn; We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends; We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength; When we are lost and sick at heart; When we have joy we crave to share; When we have decisions that are difficult to make; When we have achievement that are based on theirs;
We Remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us...
As We Remember Them."

To My Auntie Peggy, Jen, Mike and Family:
Words cannot express the great loss we are going through. Uncle Michael was there for me through thick and thin, good times and bad. He looked after Ray, Liz and I after my dad's death...something no other man can say. He cared for me as a 9 year-old semi-orphan and supported his widowed sister-in-law, my mother to the utmost. For this I am in his debt forever.
I can picture him, his dad and brothers my dad, nan, grandpa and jimmy together again at long last. He is in a far better place than we can imagine, in that I am completely confident:
"Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him Oh Lord, and
May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him and
May he rest in peace. Amen."

Peggy and family. To say I was shocked to see that Mike had passed would be an understatement. What a nice guy he was, always a smile and kind word whenever we met. Even though our paths did not cross that often I always liked to see him at family, or friends get togethers. May Mike rest in peace and Peggy you and your family find comfort in the prayers and support of family and friends. This place we all call home has lost a genuine nice guy.

To My Beloved Brother-In-Law:
"God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb.
So, he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered, "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home."
Thank you for being part of my life for 40-plus years.

Peggy, Jen, Mike and family,
I found this and thought I would share it. I am so sorry for your loss and while words can't express what you are feeling right now, I hope you can picture Mike dancing with the angels.
"And When The Earth Shall Claim Your Limbs, Then Shall You Truly Dance.
Than Almitra spoke, saying, "We would ask now of Death." And he said: You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life? The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light. If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the sheered not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink form the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."

To my friend Mike and his Family
I do believe that we are just a breath away from all the people we have lost over the years. An knowing we will see them again, when it's our turn, is very comforting to me. Of course this does not always relief the pain we feel when someone we care about dies. You see, my my believes about death are very simple as soon as we die we are once again with the people that went before us.

To Peggy...This how you know when Mikes holding you.
Do not stand by my grave and weep
For I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am diamonds that glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of butterflies in joyous flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
