I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family and friends. The God of comfort reassures us that he is near to those broken at heart and to those crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). It is interesting to note that Jesus felt similar emotions when his friend Lazarus died. He “groaned in the spirit†and “gave way to tears†(John 11:33, 35) but did his grief mean that he had no hope? Not at all! The account goes on to tell us that Lazarus was dead for “four daysâ€, but then Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus come out!†and what happened? “The man that had been dead†was now alive again (John 11:43, 44). Imagine the joy Mary and Martha felt after Jesus resurrected Lazarus back to life. Well today, Jesus is ruling as King of God’s Kingdom and the hope of seeing our dead loved one again is one of the many benefits God’s Kingdom will soon make a reality. So every time we say, “The Our Father Prayer†to “Let your Kingdom come†we are asking Jesus to perform a global resurrection for all those who have fallen asleep in death (John 5:28, 29). What a happy and joyful time it will be when we reunite with our loved ones again here upon the earth (Revelations 21:4). May all those precious memories of your dear loved one Evelyn be foremost in your thoughts and draw comfort from all those wonderful times you shared together and cherish them in your hearts. With deep respect I offer my sincere sympathy to all of you who knew and loved her. I hope these thoughts along with God’s Word the Bible provide you with a measure of comfort (Psalms 83:18).

May the God of all comfort be with you during this time of deep sorrow and in the weeks and months to come. We can trust in His promises as recorded in the Bible. We read at Revelation 21:3-5 "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.†5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.†Also, he says: “Write, because these words are faithful and true.â€
Truly these words are so assured that they are written as if they have already been fulfilled. Titus 1:2 tells us that God "cannot lie." This is our hope for the future.
Sincerest condolences for your loss.
