Heartfelt condolences to the Corria Family on the passing of Ruthie. Nothing but fond memories of the corner store, the many trips and activities that Ruthie organized and ran for so many of our youth. She was and will always be remembered as a positive force for developing and exposing so many young people of Providence to various cultural, educational and entertaining programs. God Bless and Rest In Peace.

The mold has been broken with your passing. You have touched and improved many, many lives, both young & old; more than most of us could ever achieve in our life time. You were an icon. There will never be another "Ruthie."
May you R.I.P.

Ms. Ruthie was a remarkable woman! I am deeply saddened by her passing but I know she is in a better place with God our Father. She did God's work while living on this earth and she touched so many lives, including mine. She gave me the chance to explore outside of Rhode Island for educational opportunities and I will be forever grateful to her for allowing me to get a scholarship. Ms. Ruthie, you will truly be missed and to the family, may God continue to be with you and bless you in this difficult time.

Anthony & family:
I am so sorry about Ruthie's passing. Our families have a history together as I am a relative to the Ellingtons and my mother was Barbara Braddy. Ruthie was one of my mother's best friends and when I lost my mom she was so helpful to me and my family. My Aunt Shirley recently stayed with Ruthie on her last visit here to RI. I can remember the store on Onley St to seeing her in church as I am a parishoner of Holy Name to attending one of her bus trips for the young at the church. May the Lord have her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed may she rest in God's peace, Amen.

My most sincere condolences to the Corria family for this loss of such a great spirit. I was not even related to her yet she showed more concern and tenacity to get me into college than my teachers and guidance counselors. And it worked! I have known her for over a decade and even after seeing her this past Thanksgiving, she still never pronounced my name right. Her nephew and I would correct her but she must have really not liked my real name. I have met some of the greatest people in my life because of her and those same people are today. She literally gave her life to giving back to Rhode Island youth and I am forever grateful that she even cared. Thank you Aunt Ruthie. I love you and you will be missed by many.

RIP Ruthie you will forever live in our hearts. Thanks for all the good times we had with the traveling co-eds. Many never leave RI but you took us young teens out of rhody and to Canada and to the Worlds Fair in New York. Many of my young years were possible because of you. Your such a beautiful, caring unselfish person and I'm so thankful you were in our lives. You touched so many lives and if anyone forgot to thank you were doing it now.God bless you and all your accomplishments and all your help.

Dearest Anthone' and family,
We sincerely wish to express our deepest condolences to your family; my mom and Ruthie were dear friends since she herself was a teenager and my mom is now 81. This is quite a big loss for your family and all the friends and families and children of those families Ruthie so unselfishly helped over her long life, she was truly an angel here on earth. She was a remarkable woman and will be missed, I personally took several of the trips she sponsored for kids on the East Side and loved it, the fondest of memories...I'll treasure and so will my mom. May God bless you and your family through this hard time. We will remember her always in our prayers...and will miss her terribly.

When I moved to Providence in 1970 Ruthie and her mother were so kind to me. I will never forget Ruthie as I would always run into her in Mount Hope and the East Side. I always treasured Ruthie's goodness. May she rest in peace and my sympathies to her family.

I want to send my deepest condolences to the Corria family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Ruthie when I was in the 11th grade and she introduced her trip to Southern Black Colleges! I was eager and excited to go! As an example of the community, I am so foruntate and humbled to have been able to have the opportunity to go on such a rewarding trip. I was able to see historically black landmarks that I probably wouldnt have been able to on my own! I thank you Ms. Ruthie for the opportunity and you changed my life at such the young age of 16. May your soul rest in peace and you continue to embrace this community from the heaven above!

I hope her legacy lives on in the community! Again my deepest condolences..
