Mel and I are part of a group of friends, who are more like family, and we are all very close. We will all miss him terribly.

He was a good, loving person, and always willing to help others.

We also shared a very special bond.

He is now reunited with his beloved Walter.

He also spoke lovingly about his mother, and now he is reunited with her.

Mel, my friend, my brother, may you rest in Peace. We will all miss you very much. But you will always be in our hearts.

Love, Marilyn (Mal)

I was lucky enough to meet Mel through my mother, Be Sutton. He was a beloved friend to my mother. He treated her with such kindness always, though especially during her last months of illness. I was so happy to have the privilege of getting to know him. He and my mother are now looking down upon us all and smiling. May his memory be a blessing.

Mel was a good uncle, a good great-uncle and a good friend. Mel was always good to my kids Christian, Kelsey and Karissa, and then when my two stepchildren came along he didn't hesitate to treat them as if he was always their uncle. I have my wonderful memories of my uncle Mel and that's what I choose to remember til we meet Again. Tell uncle Walt I said hi. I love you Mel

As we remember our Mel, we think of all the happy times we spent with him, and how, at each holiday, he would somehow find a way to visit with us, after spending the day with Lucy and Mary, the sisters he loved so much.

He would come to our house after visiting with them, and he would tell us how much he enjoyed the holiday with them and how much he liked the food.

His sisters were everything to him and they meant the world to him and he would often recount a happy time he had spent with Lucy and Mary and we could easily see how much he loved them and all they meant to him.

We will miss him so much and our get-togethers will never be the same without our Mel to bring a smile and laughter to them.

As noted on his funeral card, his memory will be a happy one, of happy times and laughing times.

We will miss you so much, dear Mel.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family and friends. The Bible book of Isaiah makes the promise that, “your dead loved ones will live again… they will rise up. (Isaiah 26:19)” and this promise will soon come true by means of God’s Kingdom (Matthew 6:9, 10). For Jesus said, “Do not marvel at this…all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…to a resurrection. (John 5:28, 29)” God’s purpose is for mankind to live forever upon the earth (Psalm 37:29). These promise will soon come true and what a joy it will be to see your beloved Melvin once again. I hope these thoughts and words from God’s Word the Bible provide you with a measure of comfort during this time of grief. (Psalms 83:18).
