To: Family of Leslie King
I am totally shocked and saddened by the loss of Leslie. We were friends going back to the 1970's and met at Bobby's Rollaway. We re-connected during her time as a dispatcher with Lincoln PD and talked on the phone often - remembering all the good times in years long past. My thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends.

In your time of sorrow and need, I hope you lean on the crutches built by Leslie over her years on this earth, which are built from the Love, Peace, Happiness and Smiles she brought to this world.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Like the saying goes "Only the good die young" maybe that was writen for the King family because they have lost 2 people that were way too young to die. Only the last few years did we get to be good friends with Leslie, and only 2 months ago we were planning on going to another concert together.I heard they have motorcycles in heaven, so take a nice long ride and take care of Billy. Leslie Ride in peace : )

Our love and prayers go out to Leslie's family, other relatives, and all who knew and loved her. We were 1st friends on FB, then met in person on the cruise ship with Sandy. I immediately felt this special connection. We had a lot in common, my maiden name was also King, and I lived in Newport a very long time ago. My sister, Christine would have turned "56" this July 15th, sadly she died the day she was born. I believe God sent Leslie my way so I could experience having a sister, even for a short time. I look forward to meeting up with her again some day. I will hold you in my heart and thoughts until then. I love you my sister, Leslie King.

Oh Leslie, I miss you, my days will not be complete now without your fb comments....
Leslie is my second cousin and my link with the King Family in Mass and Rhode Island. Leslie came to visit us many years ago when we lived in Manhattan Beach, CA. I gave her my 280Z to drive while she was there, and the highlight of the trip was going with me to the Jack Lemmon/Walter Matthau Golf Tournament in Beverly Hills (a fund raiser for the hospitals I worked for (Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospitals). She met lots of movie stars and took lots of photos. We had a great time. My son Michael gave took her to Disneyland. I know she had a good time and always wanted to come back and visit us, but sadly that never happened. Her parents treated me like a queen when I visted them on several occasions...I miss Bill and Phyliss....
My son Michael died at an early age like Leslie, and on the same day June 5th....I'll always be remembering both of them now on that day. They both loved motorcycyles....so I'll bet they are on a new adventure in heaven...on bikes! My condolences to Joanne, Mary Ellen and Bill.......I'm trying not to cry as I type this..but it's hard to do. She was such a wonderful person. My heart goes out to all you. Goodbye Leslie, til we meet again.....

My deepest sympathy for the King family. I only recently reconnected with Leslie on Facebook but got to see her on a recent visit back to RI. No fancy words can describe Leslie. She was as real as it gets, told you like it was, and had a knack of making you want to be her best friend. She was a unique and kind soul.

Leslie impacted the lives of many people from all parts of the world. Mostly from folks she bonded with going to Albannach events in the south. She made friends with the band and they knew her personally as a true devotee of good thing Scottish. The many friends she touched through out the years caused many comments on facebook about how Les impacted their lives. I feel the same as so many. She will be sadly missed. God Bless Leslie and her family.

To Leslie's family.
My deepest sympathy to all of you. My husband and I are known as Moe & Joe.
We first met Leslie when she was a teenager. Some people say that this is where it all began, at the Firehouse. We watched her grow into a beautiful woman, sister, wife, mother, friend and still had room for a good time. She made a lot of people happy in her short lifetime. She will be missed but she will always be with you all as Angel Leslie. May she Rest In Peace.

To my 'Vintage' Firehouse 4-Ever Friend & Sister-in-kind, Les, a most 'special' bond occurred, not only 40 years ago, but upon your taking wing to the Heavens this past Wednesday. I was honored and privileged to be by your side as you took flight to your new paradise where your Mom, Dad and Billy were waiting with arms open to welcome you. You are free, my beloved Leslie. I will miss you, as will so many, but I will see you again, one day, my friend. I love you infinity. Thank you for being in my life. And to Matt, Mary, Joanne, Billy, Scott, Steve and family, my heartfelt thoughts & prayers are with you, all, through this very difficult journey. Remember, it is never 'good-bye'... it is always, "See you later...". You have one awesome Angel looking over all of you. Be good, in case they have 'sticky notes' in Heaven. xo All my love, Maruta

To the King family
My heart breaks for you as well as for all of the many friends that Leslie has made over the years. From high school to the Firehouse to starting our families and watching our kids grow we were friends. She was loving life and I was so enjoying hearing about her most recent travels and experiences. She loved her family and would do anything for them. Very sad, a bit angry and going to miss my "secret agent woman". Until we meet again on the dance floor....
Love you to pieces

I think I'm still in shock - you were taken from us so fast, too fast.... But, I'm glad you're no longer in pain and in a better place. Hopefully, you've 'met Cherry' - and the 2 of you are sharing tales of a certain young man who both of you 'loved' - and more.
I will definitely be thinking of you next weekend in Asheville - certain you'll both be there with us, in spirit, dancing and smiling once again! Miss you, Leslie....will never forget you.
Also - my condolences to Leslie's family and friends. She was a very special, very loved friend to so many. I'm so glad I got to know her - albeit, selfishly, for too short a time. Rest in peace my friend. Love you.

Farewell My Friend
Leslie and I met 6 years ago at the Lincoln Police Department I didn't know that a girl from the "Bucket" would change my life so much her hard core Rock and Roll Harley Davidson full of life attitude would actually rub off on me a little women from Barrington. People said opposites attract, and thats what happened to us. Everyday was a joy to work with her no matter what occurred at work we always would laugh at the end of the day.
I miss Leslie's smile, laughter, I miss seeing her, and the happiness she brought to me. Since her passing I have lost a part of me, and wonder if it will ever be healed. When I hug her family, and friends I feel that love from Leslie, and know that she is still with me.
Many tears I have seen & cried they all poured out like rain. I know that you are happy now cause your no longer in pain. Our friendship is forever until we meet again. Although your away your always in my heart. I love you Leslie Thank You for your Friendship My Sister may you Rest in Peace.

Away
I cannot say and I will not say
That she is dead, she is just away.
With a cheery smile and a wave of hand
She has wandered into an unknown land;
And left us dreaming how very fair
Its needs must be, since she lingers there.
And you-oh you, who the wildest yearn
From the old-time step and the glad return-
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the love of there, as the love of here
Think of her still the same way, I say;
She is not dead, she is just away.

Dear King Family,
I just want to extend my heartfelt condolences to you. I have also lost a loved one in death rather recently. This truly is one of the hardest things any of us will ever have to cope with. May you find comfort, as I have found, in our Heavenly Father's loving promise to reunite us with our dead loved ones by means of a resurrection on a paradise earth that will be filled with peace, happiness, and perfect health for everyone in the very near future. (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:11,29,34; Isaiah 33:24) May these precious promises from God's Word the Bible bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time. My deepest sympathy to you.
