Julio Letran was a great person. I met him when I was little, he was my dad's close friend. We were almost family. A month before he passed away, I went on a 6 hour road trip to upstate NY to a church retreat, with him. And ironically he told me that he was prepared to die, that he knew he had mistakes and errors, but that he was sure in his salvation through Jesus Christ. Julio Letran was a loveble person. He influenced a lot of youth and helped a lot of people in need with advice, encouragement and any other form he could contribute in. One last advice he gave me was "Never do anything to impress people do it to meet people's necessities". I will never forget those words, as I pursue a professional career. May God Bless the Letran family with peace and strength. God Bless Hna Olga, Josh, Jonathon, Jamie, and Tony. He is deffinately in a better place.

My sincere condolences to all of you. I was there after the accident and was in the boat along with my husband and close friend. We all tried fervently to save Julio's life. He was in good hands as he had members of the local search and rescue on scene as well as myself who just graduated last may in the medical field. I found peace in reading about Julio and his relationship with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. May all of you know we are praying for all of you and your loved ones.

My deepest condolences during this most difficult time. Although you feel hurt and pain, God Almighty promises to "Wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more" (Revelation 21:4) May your find a measure of comfort and pain from God's Word the Bible.

I know this is late coming, but for the past two years I haven't been able to find the right words. I was there at Georgtown Lake the day he passed. I didn't know who was on the lake at the time, but that day is one I can not forget. I was attending a church camp at the time and I remember it started to rain. I ran to my cabin to put away my stuff and grab my rain poncho and a hoodie. As I walked back down the path towards the mess hall I saw a group of people gathered in the rain. I watched several of my camp leaders run to the lake with a canoe and it didn't take long for me to spot the capsized canoe they were heading towards. I prayed with everything I had that they would find him in time. I remember the pain I felt upon learning he didn't make it. I remember kneeling down with my fellow camp members as we prayed for him and his family. I wish I could've done more. I'm so sorry for your families loss. He's in God's hands now.
