I did not have the privelege of meeting Alan, but knowing his Mom, he had to be one great guy.

Alan, words can not describe the feeling of you no longer being here with us. I pray everynight that you are resting in peace. I miss our daily phone chats, early ams :) our coffee meetings and our laughs having some drinks. You made a mark in friends and family to put a smile on their face. Also, always directed with good intentions to take care ofnones in need, even if it was your ear listening, or your positive advice. You are so close to my heart... you were my first motorcycle ride on your bike. I will never forget you in my hesrt, mind, and soul!!!!! Until we meet again. I don’t have to tell you how special Alan was. I met him about twenty years ago. He was the kind of person that you felt incredibly at ease with..he had a warm, positive and engaging personality that I will sorely miss. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for those he liked. He was a true friend that I am grateful to have known. My warmest wishes go out to Fran, Matt and Becky during this dreadful time. While I only met Fran and Matt a small number of times, I feel as if I know all three of you very well. You see, over the years he spoke of you often. Unlike so many others that either never speak about their family or just dwell on the bad things, Alan spoke frequently about the three of you with pride in his voice to the point that he glowed. He loved you all very much and without question treasured his time with you. So while he left us entirely too early, I think his family apparently gave him the joys in that small period of time that many will not know in a life 10x his. I will miss him and thank him for his endless kindness and selflessness. I am deeply sorry.

Words can not even begin to describe the sadness in my heart. Alan and Fran are like family we have so many memories together watching you get married and having your kids to the two of you in our wedding and being there when Samantha was born and all the times in between... Don’t think of Al as ‘gone away’…
his journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this Earth is just but one.
I know when we lose a loved one,
our world just falls apart.

I did not know Alan as family or as a close friend, yet our paths crossed every morning at Brown. I want Alan's family to know what a difference he made in the lives of so many people at Brown Continuing Education. His smile and cheerful words truly set the tone for our whole day, everyday. I only met Alan last year when he joined our bowling team in East Providence. He was an easy going guy and fun to have on the team. He will be missed on Sunday nights. My heart goes out to you Fran. I will keep you in my prayers.

Alan greeted me every morning with a smile and warm wishes. He was so kind to all of our staff and visitors in Continuing Education. Al and I knew each other when he worked at the booth in 6th district court. I known him for 23
He was a kind and gentle person, with a huge personality to match. Al always made me laugh.

Fran and family, I worked with Alan at Churchill & Banks. He was a great guy, always talking about going camping and riding his yellow motor cycle and getting the addition to it to carry everything.
