You were an amazing person Maureen. I enjoyed having you as my Principal, as well as my friend. You were fun, easy to talk to and always approachable for a professional opinion or pep talk. You have touched many lives... And left many memories for all of us to treasure. Thank you for granting me the opportunity to know you. My heart breaks... You will be missed. To the Azar & Diggle Families, my heartfelt condolences. She was amazing. May you find peace in knowing she was loved by so very many. God Bless you Maureen.

No words can express the sheer sadness and emptiness that I feel. I met Maureen 24 years ago when she was a PhysEd teacher at Calcutt. She has been my principal for the past 6 years. She was the most passionate and caring administrator. We viewed her as a friend... Colleague.. I can't believe that she is gone. Mrs. Azar, Joanne and Ashley... My prayers and condolences. She was loved by all that worked with her!

Mrs. Azar, Joanne, Ashley,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you as you mourn the loss of Maureen. No words can convey the sadness that her death has brought to those of us who knew her, respected her, and admired her. I was one of the fortunate ones who knew Maureen as a colleague and I had the opportunity to be embraced by her good nature, kind spirit, and giving attitude. Her devotion to those around her will be forever remembered as will her enduring love of all of you.

Maureen was part of the wonderful "old guard" in Central Falls Schools, which we remember fondly, but which, sadly, is almost all gone now. May she be embraced by Our Lord and given the peace we all seek and may all who did not treat her with the respect she deserved repent.
The Lord knows all and he knows your kindness, your commitment and your suffering. Rest in his love and forgiveness, Maureen!
God bless all who loved you and whom you left behind!

I am so saddened about the passing of Maureen. Our Central Falls community has lost not only an awesome administrator but a loving and unconditional friend. I've known Maureen for the past 24 years and any time our paths would cross she would greet me with her big beautiful smile and warm hug. We would undoubtedly reminisce about the "good ol' days" and just laugh from the bottom of our bellies. I will truly miss my old friend but I will keep her memory close to my heart. My deepest sympathy goes out to Mrs. Azar, Joanne and Ashley. May God Bless Maureen's beautiful soul.

Mrs. Azar and Joanne,
I am so very sorry to hear about Maureen's passing. I remember her as always having a smile on her face and happy. We had some great time upstairs in your apartment playing with Snoopy, downstairs playing store, and swimming in the pool. She made my elementary years fun and memorable! I saw her just a few years aga at Macy's where she helped me pick out a pair of shoes- ( she would not let me buy the ones she told me were too dorky:). As a loving person there is no doubt she is in heaven. My deepest sympathy, Robin

I grew up as Mrs. Azar being my gym teacher. She was a wonderful person, always happy and always brought the light to the room. She also worked with my mom through the school department. Now as an adult I got the pleasure of her being my sons principal. My son loved her and always looked forward to seeing her everyday. Now shes gone and it feels like a piece of us is gone. May the angels fly with her in heaven and guide her to a beautiful eternal life, she deserves it for everything she did for everyone. RIP Mrs. Azar. Dear Mrs. Azar and family; I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of Maureen's passing! I worked with her for many years at Filenes/Macys. She was a truly beautiful person inside and out. She was extremely classy and one of the most considerate people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. She was the " sharpest dresser" I know and looked forward to see what she would be wearing when she came into work. I was also very jealous of her tan that seemed to last all year! I am sure God has some very special plans for her ; for I am sure that HEAVEN is where she is.

Dear Mrs. Azar, Joanne and Ashley, I am so saddened by your tragic loss. I enjoyed working for Maureen when she was principal at Broad St School, and was impressed with her goodness and rapport with teachers and students there. As a retiree, I looked forward to her annual Christmas cards delineating the exotic places she traveled to. She was such a good giving person. She will be sorely missed. connie godin

Maureen deserves a heavenly place to rest and to take the burden off of a committed principal, a loyal friend, and the arms that were open to the children of Ella Risk day in and day out.

My Grandson said he would miss her "Foot Book" readings and she had "ALL" of them, Grandma. He also said he knew her for ten weeks ~ those ten weeks will be remembered for a lifetime. Thank-you Maureen...

Mauren was a wonderful, loving person who touched many lives, My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. We have to remember that Maureen is not gone, she has just taken a different form. Our bodies are just our vehicles for here on earth and once passed her spirt is still with us. We are here on earth to learn lessons and when we have learned those lessons we take on a new form. Maureen's lessons in life were to live, love and laugh and she achieved all those lessons. She will alwalys be with you in spirt. The phone may ring or the doorbell will chime and nobody will be there, that is just Maureen saying hello..Celebrate her life.....

My sincerest condolences to the entire Azar family. I just heard of Maureen's passing and remember our time together in high school - a wonderful woman then and in the years following, giving so much back to the people of Central Falls. Maureen, Godspeed as you cross over to everlasting life.

Maureen knew that the most valuable lessons taught to children are those of being a good friend and encouraging others while doing your best and working as team while you reach out to those who are hurting and bringing laughter and joy into others lives-that is a beautiful way to live. That is the essence of Maureen. While the flame has flicked and become dim may it continue to burn brightly as did Maureen-true to her vocation forever. May she watch over the family and city she loved and who so loved her in return.

Joanne, Ashley, Mrs. Azar and John
You are in my prayers during this extremely difficult time. Maureen was an inspiration to all who knew her. I have known Maureen for many years but only recently had the pleasure to work for her. I saw first hand what an amazing principal she was and how much she cared for her students. The one thing that will stay with me is how she read to the children during their lunch. They really enjoyed that.
I wish I could take away some of the pain you are suffering. She will forever be in my heart.

Dear Joan and Joanne
It was a great shock and saddened me to learn that Maureen had passed away at such a young age,She had such a good life, successful career and bright future ahead of her. She was so active, always busy enjoying life. I remember the last time we were visiting we used to see Maureen in her running shoes and gym clothes jogging during her lunch break. That is our last memory of her. I am sure she will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, her friends, other family members, and colleagues. God has called her to Him. May he have mercy upon her soul for a life well-lived. Deepest sympathy from all of us here in Germany.

Dear Mrs.Azar, Joanne, Ashley & John,
I've been working alongside Maureen for only a few short months but have known her for a good many years.
She was a woman who dedicated herself everyday to her Profession as a Principal. She always had her Teachers and Students best interest at heart. She was very stylish, very organized and very giving. Once I told her that she would never die rich, but she did die rich, very rich in many friends who genuinely loved her. Be At Peace Maureen you so deserve it.

Dear Aunt Joan and Joanne,
We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn about Maureen's passing. It still seems eerily unreal and unfathomable;we still haven't come to fully grasp the finality. It brought back a plethora of fond memories of her for me.Perhaps you can find solace in the thought of her being in a better place now;He has taken her into His Kingdom,we are sure of that.

Dear Azar family,
I only just heard yesterday about Maureen passing away. I ran into a friend who works for the Central Falls School Department and I asked her about Maureen, hoping to tell her I said hello. I was shocked and heartbroken to hear the news. It's now a year later. I'd like to express how deeply sorry I am to hear this news. I worked with Maureen in the office at the Central Falls Recreation Dept and then out in the parks. What fun we had and great memories I will never forget. She is missed.
