passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the age of 84.
Edward was a member of the City of Central Falls Fire Department since 1961 and rose to the rank of Battalion Chief in 1982. He retired from the Department in 1985. During his career he once served as President of the International Association of Firefighters, Local Union 1485. He was formally a member of the Knights of Columbus. Battalion Chief McCann was husband to the late Teresa McCann and father to the late Christine McCann Vaudreuil. Edward is also survived by his loving son, Kevin McCann and his wife Paula, his loving daughters, Kathleen Corrigan and husband Bruce, Karen Aissis and husband George, Susan Trocina and husband Rodney, Eileen Nunes and husband Manny, and son in law Kenneth Vaudreuil. He was also the brother-in-law of the late John McCann. Edward is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 16th at 9:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Parish at 11am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8pm.
