He was the son of the late John D. Sullivan Sr. and Elmaira (Berard) Sullivan.
John was raised on Hendricks St, in Central Falls and joined the Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on a mine sweeper. After serving his country he worked for the Plainfield Dog Track. He has resided at the Bristol Veterans Home after suffering from a stroke 12 years ago.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Albee of Connecticut and Megan Sullivan-Albee of New Hampshire, a granddaughter, Ariah, three brothers, Dennis Sullivan and Kevin Sullivan, both of Cumberland, David Sullivan and a niece, Shannon Laxton. He was the brother of the late Barry Sullivan.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 10:30am to noon, followed by a service at noon in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
