86, passed July 7, 2014 with family and friends by her side. She was the wife of the late Irving Burney, Sr.
Erma is survived by one daughter, Inez Elise Burrows of East Providence, one sister Elaine Whitecross, two brothers, Hubert Simmons and Colin Simmons, all of Bermuda, along with fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Albert M. Burney and the late Irving Burney, Jr. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Dorsett and Lea-Onell Simmons and three brothers Myron Simmons, Anson Simmons and Winslow Simmons, all of Bermuda.
Erma loved her public ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, sharing the Bible's beautiful message with everyone she met.
Services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. Calling hours will begin at 12:30 p.m. and a memorial talk will be given at 2:00 p.m.
