Lloyd was an Army Veteran of WWII and in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War. After leaving the military, Lloyd worked for Stromberg-Carlson in Rochester NY. He later worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in NJ. He retired from government service in 1978 and went on to work for North American Philips.
Lloyd's true passion was as a Ham Radio Operator. A passion he enjoyed for over 70 years, getting his first license at the age of 16. His call letters, W2VUY, changed to W2DG when he got his advanced license.
Lloyd previously resided in Rochester, NY and Bloomfield, NJ. He lived the past nine years at Emerald Bay in Cumberland, RI.
He is survived by two sons, Harry Cook and his wife Kathie of North Pole, AK, Bill Cook and his partner Rick of Wrentham, MA, his granddaughter, Hillary and his grandson Christopher and his wife Stacy, and two great-granddaughters all of California. Private services will be held at Keefe Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Donations can be made at ALZ.org.
