Kareem leaves behind five children to mourn his passing, Isiah Barnes Johnson of Charlotte, NC,Cynthiana Washington of Atlanta, GA, Zaire Washington of Atlanta, GA, Nubia Barnes of Lancaster, PA, Unity Barnes of Newport, RI, a grandson Zion Johnson of Charlotte NC. He also leaves behind his brothers, Troy Barnes of Newport, RI, Reuben Mccants of Newport RI, Wayne J Barnes of Providence and the late Donald W.Barnes

and Vanya Janice Evans of Fall River, Ma,
aunts Karen Barnes Harris of Providence, Inez Brown of Norfolk Va,and Yhonna McCants. and the Late Yalotta Greene of Newport RI.
Four uncles, Nathaniel Barnes of Providence Wayne Barnes of Providence, Elbert Barnes of Providence, Herbert Greene of Atlanta, Ga Mitchell McCants of Fall River, And the late Tony McCants of Newport RI and a host of niece's, nephews and cousins who loved him and will miss his tremendously.
Kareem attended Rogers High School in Newport RI. He worked in the construction field and also worked security detail in many local establishments. Kareems first priority was his family. He loved athletics, basketball, weightlifting, swimming, music and rapping freestyle most of all. He had a heart of gold he was the most affectionate person to walk this earth.
Kareem was a protector and guardian of not only his family who he cherished but also to his many friends.
He was/is the true meaning of a family man in every sense of the word. he was loved & respected by all who knew & loved him and he touched the lives of everyone who crossed his path. He will dearly missed.
A Homegoing service will be held Tuesday at 10am in the Keefe Funeral home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7pm.
