17, passed on May 12th she was the daughter of Roland M. Lavallee and Marylu Lopez. She was born a bubbly happy baby, continued through life with smiles for all.
Yaliea, my beautiful baby girl started out seamingly perfect on August 7, 1997. Nine days later we found out that she was born with meningitis which damaged motor skills, but she never let it stop her. She had endless amounts of seizures on a daily basis. At age 12 she was diagnosed with Retts Syndrome, a rare bloods disease which continually made conditions worse. She was eventually put on a feeding machine so that she would receive proper nutrients she needed. It never stopped Yaliea from eating all of her favorite foods and making everyone laugh; which was what she enjoyed doing the most. She was an extremely happy child and very compassionate towards others. People would see her and say "She had a smile that lit up a room" all she did was laugh and smile at everyone all day, even on bad days and through discomfort. As years went by it was a constant struggle with seizures putting her in the hospital for days and weeks at a time. The last seizure she had Sunday afternoon (Mother's Day) ultimately left her fighting for her life. At 9:30pm on May 12, Yaliea succumbed to her battle with Retts Syndrome as our lord decided it was time for her to be with him to end her suffering. If you were missing a piece of bacon or ham from your plate, you would find Yaliea laughing with it in her hand. Pets loved to stay by her side since she was tiny. She would always make sure she dropped enough food for them to eat as well.
Calling Hours will be held Tuesday May 19th from 6 to 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home. Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery Pawtucket, RI.
