80, passed away on December 22nd at the Orchard View Manor, East Providence. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Haley) Childs. Catherine was a lifelong resident of Laurel Street until recently.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she was very active in the Ladies Guild, Choir, and food bank.
Catherine was a strong supporter of the RI Democratic Party and supported many local elections as well as being a large part of the Pawtucket St. Patrick's Day Parade. She had been employed by Collyer Wire for over 40 years in the Accounting Department.
She is survived by her step sister, Frances Lynch of Blackstone Falls, RI and her loving caregiver Eugene Demeule.
A memorial service will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in Mt St Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman St, Ste 306, Providence RI 02906.
