26, also known as "Dunga", of North Providence, passed away after a tragic accident early Saturday morning August 22, 2015.
He is remembered for his infectious smile, humble heart, and most commonly for his passion and raw talent in his favorite sport, soccer. His teammates speak of the outstanding leadership. He regularly served as captain, leading his teams to win after win.
Armando was born in Brockton, MA, to Eloisa Gomes and Armando Gomes, Sr. Besides his parents he is also survived by his grandfather, Casimiro Gomes, brothers, Ivan David and Helder David, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom held him very close to their hearts.
Calling hours will be held Friday, August 28th in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson, from 5pm to 8pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:30am. Please arrive by 9:15am. Burial will be in Rumford Cemetery.
