90, passed peacefully after a short illness on October 1st. She was married to the late Napoleao Lopes Vicente for 61 years. Born in Brava, Cabo Verde Islands, she immigrated to Pawtucket in 1961.
She was a lover of music, dancing, gardening and travel. She retired from American Insulated Wire. She was active in the founding and building of St. Mary's Church and a parishioner of St. Anthony church in Pawtucket. She was often seen cooking and dancing at various family functions and Cape Verdean Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by a sister; Maria Pina Tavares of Canton Ohio. She has 5 living children; Victoria Vicente, Ludgero "Duke" Vicente and Dorothy Vicente Ramos of Rhode Island, Manuel Vicente of Tampa, Florida and Alcides Vicente of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by 20 Grand Children; 19 Great Grand Children and 5 great great Grand Children. Her oldest, Antonio "Tony" Vicente is deceased.
Her funeral will be held Monday October 5th at 9:45 A.M. from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave., Pawtucket at 11 A.M. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling Hours will be held Sunday Noon-3 P.M.
