He had been employed by Raytheon for 25 years before retiring in 1986. Rene was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a former member of the James Stanton Post and the American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Anita Hermann and Leo Provencher, grandchildren, Leo Provencher Jr, Melina Provencher, Jason Cain, Justin Hermann and Jennifer Lee and Andrew Jordan, and great grandchildren, Jada, Mila, Jacen, Jake, Jason Jr. He was the father of Robert and Roger Provencher.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 1st at 8 am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter Street, Central Falls at 9:30 am followed by Burial with Military Honors in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
